Canon Middle East provides new surveillance equipment for Egypt

Canon Middle East has launched nine network cameras to boost security and surveillance in Egypt’s key economic sectors

The new technologies were showcased to around 120 customers from various verticals such as banking, government, system integrators, vendors and resellers. The products include 360-degree outdoor and infrared-enabled models for the Egypt market.

“Given the importance of ensuring security and safeguarding people, property and assets, entities such as commercial and retail outlets increasingly rely on robust surveillance systems as part of their overall security strategy,” said Hendrik Verbrugghe, marketing director of Canon Middle East.

Canon’s newly launched network cameras are designed for both indoor and outdoor environments, including retail, city surveillance and critical infrastructure monitoring. The cameras are the first infrared (IR) based fixed box cameras featuring a 2.4x zoom lens and an ultra-wide 113.4º angle of view for high quality imaging day or night.

In addition to the cameras, Canon also showcased its integrated solution with Milestone Video Management software, primarily designed for small and medium-sized establishments.

According to recent research by G4S, the Middle East has evolved to be the most vibrant safety and security market in the world. The rapid pace of economic and infrastructural development has caused the market to achieve a growth rate of more than 10 per cent annually, since 2012. In Egypt, there is a great demand for security equipment, ranging across diverse sectors but particularly from commercial, retail and transportation sectors.
