Oldham SAS, subsidiary of Scott Safety, has released a new gas monitor – BM 25 Wireless – that is now certified by Canadian Standards Association (CSA)
This certification makes it available for usage in Class I Division 1 hazardous locations in Canada and Divsion 2 locations in USA.
The monitor can work in combination with the wireless controller MX 40 and can be accessed remotely via Ethernet or GSM. A web page displays measurements to be displayed in real time. This allows SMSes or emails to be sent in case of an alarm.
Apart from being resistant to harsh environment, the monitor is able to track up to five gases simultaneously with a run time of up to 135 hours.
There are plans to get the US Class I Division 1 approval by end of this year, Oldham SAS revealed.
