Saur Group, a global specialist in water services, has recorded 30 million safe man-hours in Saudi Arabia through its operations and maintenance (O&M) contract with the National Water Company (NWC) across the Eastern Cluster.

The achievement highlights the company's focus on occupational health and safety, operational reliability and the implementation of robust Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) standards across its water infrastructure activities.

The O&M agreement covers water infrastructure operations in Dammam, Al Khobar and Jubail, along with other locations across Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. Reaching the 30-million-hour milestone reflects the combined contribution of Saur's workforce throughout the Kingdom and its ongoing cooperation with NWC and international water sector partners Miahona and Manila Water Company.

Christophe Tanguy, CEO of Saur Middle East, said, “Achieving 30 million safe man-hours is a significant milestone that reflects the dedication of our teams and the strong safety culture embedded across our operations. Safety is integral to how we deliver operational excellence, from safety engagements and structured training to emergency preparedness and continuous monitoring. We are grateful to the National Water Company for this recognition and to our partners, Miahona and Manila Water Company, for their continued collaboration in delivering essential water services safely and reliably.”

QHSE practices underpin operational safety

Saur's approach to workplace protection is built around an integrated QHSE management framework that places safety considerations throughout its operational activities.

The framework combines workforce training, regular field-level safety interactions, standardised operating procedures, technical inspections and systematic risk assessments. Emergency response planning and continuous monitoring of safety performance further support the company's efforts to identify potential hazards and minimise operational risks.

Leadership involvement and employee accountability are also central to this approach. By encouraging participation at every level of the organisation, Saur aims to ensure that safety considerations are incorporated into routine tasks, operational decisions and long-term planning.

The 30 million safe man-hours achievement demonstrates the contribution of these measures across the Eastern Cluster, where teams are responsible for maintaining essential water services and supporting the reliability of regional infrastructure.

Supporting Saudi Arabia's water sector ambitions

Saudi Arabia's ongoing investment in water infrastructure and service development under Vision 2030 is increasing the importance of reliable operations, efficient resource management and strong occupational safety practices.

Against this backdrop, Saur continues to focus on delivering resilient and efficient water services while maintaining high standards of workforce protection across its Saudi Arabian operations.

The latest safety milestone reinforces the company's commitment to responsible water infrastructure management, combining technical expertise, operational discipline and collaboration with national and international partners.

Beyond recognising the performance of its teams, the achievement highlights the importance of embedding safety into the delivery of essential public services. Through its continued partnership with NWC and other industry stakeholders, Saur aims to contribute to the development of a more sustainable and resilient water sector in the Kingdom, while maintaining a workplace culture centred on protecting every employee.
