SANS Institute will unite a number of leaders in the field of cybersecurity for the SANS Gulf Region 2022, with sessions covering Mobile Device Security and Ethical Hacking; ICS Cybersecurity In-Depth; Managing Security Vulnerabilities: Enterprise and Cloud; Reverse-Engineering Malware: Advanced Code Analysis; Implementing and Auditing Security Frameworks and Controls and a host of others.
In its 2022 SonicWall Cyber Threat Report, the organisation reported that cyber attacks have climbed as the geopolitical landscape has shifted, only emphasised by the pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It recorded as many as 2.8 bn malware attacks in the first half of 2022, which marked an 11% increase on the same period in 2021. Of this, a 77% rise in Internet of Things (IoT) malware and 132% increase in encrypted threats via HTTPS were noted.
