Intertek has revealed its Abu Dhabi training centre received accreditation from the International Well Control Forum (IWCF)
The centre – the company’s first technical and safety training facility for oil and gas in the Middle East – will offer a range of courses accredited by a variety of organisations, including IWCF, UK and the International Association of Drilling Controls (IADC), USA.
“The new Abu Dhabi Training Centre represents a significant step for Intertek in delivering high quality training to meet the demands of both offshore and onshore operations across the Emirates and the region,” said Hussain Al- Atrakchi, Intertek’s regional managing director for the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan. “It also creates a tremendous opportunity to leverage the overall skillsets and competencies of industry workforce, and allows them to keep their knowledge and certification up-to-date.
“The centre will bring the best quality training and instructors, offering advanced know-how and knowledge transfer for the oil and gas upstream and downstream professionals in the UAE and across the GCC region.”
A total of 30 different types of courses will be available at the centre to prepare trainees for drilling and safety procedures.
