Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the world's largest aluminium smelter on a single site, has achieved an unprecedented safety milestone: 50 million working hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI), reached on 7 September 2026.
The achievement marks a new benchmark in the company's history and reflects the sustained efforts of Alba's management, employees, and contractors to strengthen safety culture and operational excellence across the organisation.

Commenting on the milestone, Alba's Chief Executive Officer, Ali Al Baqali, described it as a remarkable achievement and a proud moment for the company.
He said the milestone reflects Alba's unwavering commitment to embedding safety into every activity, decision, and behaviour across the organisation. Al Baqali extended his appreciation to Alba's employees and contractor workforce for upholding the highest safety standards every day, adding that the company will continue working together to raise the bar and set new benchmarks in safety excellence.
