Honeywell has rolled out Miller DuraSeal Self-retracting Lifeline (DSRL), a product designed to enhance reliability and safety in the harshest environments

The DuraSeal SRL, which was awarded IP69K certification for its design, uses patent-pending sealed technology that stops contaminants from entering the product and ensures the self-reatracting lifeline’s brake system, power spring and bearings will not come in contact with debris, water or chemicals.

The product features a number of practical features, including a  braking system which has been designed to endure multiple falls and the Miller Rapid Replace Lifeline. According to Honeywell, the lifeline can quickly and easily be replaced in the field in the event of a fall, or activated load-indicator.

The DuraSeal is also expected to reduce user fatigue and is expected to boosts productivity, Honeywell revealed.

“Honeywell identified a gap in the market for a truly robust SRL that not only can withstand the harsh environments common in the offshore oil and gas and wind industries but also provide reliable, long-term performance,” said Corentin Barbieux, product manager, Honeywell Industrial Safety EMEA.

“As it implies in the name, the DuraSeal is extremely durable when put to the test. Also, because it is hermetic, the SRL’s sealed technology is resistant to debris, water or chemicals. The product performs extremely well in very challenging conditions, enhancing the safety of workers out in the field,” added Barbieux.
