MSR-Electronic has developed an exchangeable gas sensor that can be replaced without external assistance
The gas alarm system specialist said sensor heads on its new ‘X-Change’ model can easily be exchanged by the operator of the facility in which they are used, saving a “significant” amount of time and money.
Gas sensors need to be adjusted, recalibrated or replaced at least every two years in order to ensure the integrity of their readings; a process which often involves a reliance on external specialist companies, which can be expensive and time-consuming.
The PolyGard®2 sensors with which the X-Change is used are designed to monitor for gas leaks in enclosed spaces such as underground car parks, tunnels and loading zones, and are specifically optimized to detect CO, NO, NO2 and LPG gases.
MSR is based in Pocking, Germany, producing sensors, controllers and warning devices that can be combined into gas monitoring and warning systems which are used in more than 40 countries around the world.
