American multinational Honeywell this month released its new GasAlertMicroClip X3 portable gas detector
The device, which can detect multiple gases, gained an Ingress Protection (IP) rating of 68 – an industry first for a detector of its kind.
“The unit was engineered to withstand harsh conditions, with an IP 68 rating that ensures complete protection against dust, as well as immersion in water for up to 45 minutes,” said Jacob Spector, global product marketing manager for portable multi-gas detectors.
With its new 40xLL oxygen sensor, Honeywell said the GasAlertMicroClip X3 can deliver sustained, accurate performance in harsh conditions, reducing costs for customers and lasting twice as long as standard oxygen sensors, with no replacement costs likely over the unit’s lifetime.
“With some portable multi-gas detectors, companies need to replace the battery and some sensors after a couple of years, which can increase cost and equipment downtime,” said Spector. “But the GasAlertMicroClip X3 delivers a three-year warranty at an affordable price and no replacement costs.”
