Dubai Police are collaborating with leading tyre manufacturer, Continental, with the aim of improving drivers skills and behaviours through AI Technology
"Dubai Police is keen to strengthen its relationships and partnerships, and to exchange knowledge, experiences, and best police practices in all fields," said colonel Jumaa Salem Bin Suwaidan, acting director of the General Directorate of Traffic at Dubai Police. A roundtable organised by Dubai Police and Continental was hosted at the AI Driving Hub, bringing together major executives from different sectors to discuss how AI technology and the Metaverse can be used to correct driver behaviour through a personalised data-scientific approach.
The AI Driving Hub, a joint innovation by AV Living Lab and Location Solutions, is a technological start-up that aims to enhance safety on the road; the company uses psycho-physiological individual characteristics to correct unsafe driving behaviours. Research by AV Living Lab found an array of different driving characteristics, such as public transportation companies scoring 67% on attention while driving, compared to the 64% average.
"It is of great importance for us to ensure that we continue to support dynamic solutions that further our Vision Zero goal of eradicating road accidents globally," said Karel Kucera, managing director, Continental, Middle East. AI Driving Hub and Continental have announced an initiative to use artificial intelligence and 3D modules to simulate and analyse incidents linked to tyre failure to improve road safety. Daniel Avdagič, CEO at AV Living Lab, said, "Drivers are the backbone of our society and investing in them can accelerate our movement to a Zero Accident Society, sustainable mobility and lower congestion."
