Almajdouie Motors, a car distributor in Saudi Arabia, said that it has sponsored the “Yatek Khairha” initiative for women’s safe driving

The event was held between 16-18 April in Riyadh and was attended by Tamador Alramah, deputy minister of labour and social development.

Last September, Saudi Arabia, a conservative nation, allowed women to drive and drew praise from wide sections of the population and media.

A slew of progressive measures was enacted under crown prince Mohammad Bin Salman, signalling a shift from Saudi Arabia's longstanding conservative policies.

“We are here today to further promote the continued stimulation of Saudi women by the government and continuous monitoring for her successes and achievements toward a brighter future with the permission of Allah, as well as to use her potentials and energies for the benefit of herself, her family and her country,” Alramah said.

“Our participation in this initiative as a ‘gold sponsor’ comes in support of the royal instructions to allow women to drive cars, as well as a reflection of Almajdouie — Changan’s strategy, which is focused on our participation in all community activities that address issues of society, its evolution and welfare,” Mohammed Ali Almajdouie, managing director of Almajdouie Motors Company said.
