OPSWAT, a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) cybersecurity solutions provider, is participating at GISEC Global 2024, with a focus on bridging the OT security skills gap

The company will showcase its commitment to safeguarding interconnected systems driving Industry 4.0 through demonstrations and discussions. OPSWAT experts will exhibit solutions tailored to the cybersecurity challenges arising from the convergence of IT and operational technology (OT).

“Industry 4.0 throws down the gauntlet to any organisation that runs an OT setup because the breaking down of walls between IT and OT has exposed critical infrastructure to a range of attack vectors,” said Sertan Selcuk, vice president for METAP & CIS, OPSWAT. “But at OPSWAT, backed by a process-driven approach, we stress the importance of cyber resilience more than just cybersecurity — we are focused on enabling our customers to continue operations in the face of evolving threats.”

Evolving needs

At GISEC, OPSWAT will present its solutions at the OPSWAT CIP Mobile Lab, featuring products powered by the MetaDefender platform. These solutions encompass storage security, supply chain security, secure managed file transfer, peripheral and removable media protection, access and endpoint security, email security, OT security, cross domain security, and more.

Delegates can explore OPSWAT's Nuclear Plant Model Reactor, highlighting the company's expertise in securing sensitive environments like nuclear power plants. The stand will host two demo sessions daily, demonstrating practical applications of OPSWAT IT/OT platform deployment in real-world scenarios tailored to GCC critical networks and infrastructures.

In addition to product showcases, OPSWAT will spotlight its efforts to address the regional cyber-skills gap. The company will promote awareness of the OPSWAT Scholarship Programme and the OPSWAT Academy, signing a memorandum of understanding with CyberSecured India during GISEC Global 2024.

“OPSWAT takes the cyber-skills gap very seriously,” commented Irfan Shakeel, vice president of Training and Certifications at OPSWAT. “That is why we recently invested US$10mn in our scholarship programme. We are committed to increasing the number of certified CIP professionals in the region and across the globe.”
