Telguard, a specialist in security and safety communications, has announced that it is partnering with sister company AMETEK Land to offer the VIRALERT 3 Integrated Body Temperature Screening System as part of its security distribution channel
The system is a non-contact temperature monitoring camera which detects body temperatures as individuals enter a building while maintaining appropriate social distancing.
The system builds upon the expertise in temperature technology from AMETEK Land. For more than 70 years, AMETEK Land has been developing high precision infrared measuring instruments. Developed over 10 years by experts in temperature monitoring at AMETEK Land, the system is a secure, accurate and easy to use real-time scanning solution.
The system provides the integrated camera and thermal imager as well as the fixed blackbody reference source on a single mount. The compact system can be mounted and left automatically to operate, and will not interrupt or slow down people’s flow into a building.
VIRALERT 3 determines the best location for reading the skin temperature using automatic face detection and then calculates the core body temperature. It is accurate at a distance of 3.4 feet (one metre) within 0.9°F. When elevated temperatures are discovered, audible and visual alarms alert.
“The new VIRALERT 3 system has a wide range of applications, from hospitals to transportation, retail, office and manufacturing. We are excited to be able to offer security dealers and integrators this new solution as they support the reopening of the US and Canada,” said George Brody, president of Telguard.
