FLIR Systems, an industrial technology company, has announced the launched of TG165-X MSX thermal camera for electrical contractors, machine engineers, maintenance engineers, home inspectors and HVAC professionals
This upgrade to the popular TG165 is designed for tough work environments and provides an all-in-one diagnostic tool with a spot temperature gun and thermal imaging, enhanced by FLIR 's patented multi-spectral dynamic imaging (MSX).
Rickard Lindvall, general manager, solutions at FLIR Systems, said, “With the addition of MSX, the TG165-X offers improved identification of hot spots that indicate electrical or mechanical failures, and the cold spots that indicate water or air leaks.
“Further, the TG165-X visually guides professionals to the source of common system failures so they can diagnose the problem and begin repairs more quickly.”
Built around a true 80 x 60 camera sensor with 4,800 pixels, the two-camera technology from FLIR MSX makes images easier to understand by adding visual details to full thermal images and sharpening them to recognise physical features.
A new laser-projected bullseye target helps to identify areas of concern, while the bright 2.4-inch LCD colour display and wide 51 degrees × 66 degrees field-of-view provide a comprehensive view of the area of interest.
The TG165-X includes an IP54 enclosure to protect against dust and water and a two metre (6.6 feet) drop-rating, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor inspections. The camera can store up to 50,000 images and data in an embedded four-gigabyte flash memory that can be downloaded for professional reporting to FLIR Tools.
The FLIR TG165-X is available globally for US$399 through FLIR and its authorised distributors.
