The Energy Institutes upcoming event in Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates will focus on health and safety issues in the energy industry
The Energy Institute's Middle East HSE Forum "Effective management of health, safety, environment and sustainability", will be held from 17-19 October 2016 and Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, UAE minister of energy, will give the keynote address at the event.
Health and safety is crucial to the effective management of energy production, delivery and use, and the efficient management of operations. This, combined with an increased emphasis on delivering environmental targets to improve widespread sustainability, provides the focus for this event, said a statement.
Dr. Mark Scanlon, the HSE team manager of the the Energy Institute noted, "For more than 75 years, the Energy Institute has produced safety guidance for the energy sector. In today’s world, there are more technologies and complex processes than ever before and the need for relevant and up-to-date best practice is ever growing. This event, organised in association with EI Middle East, provides a platform to discuss health, safety, environment and sustainability in a more holistic manner. The forum will provide opportunities for open discussion and, most importantly, the chance to exchange ideas with the international HSE community."
The conference programme will feature speakers from Bapco, Emirates National Oil Company, Health and Safety Executive, Qatar Shell, and the United Nations Environment Programme.
