Avivo vows to curb unhealthy lifestyle

Avivo Group, one of the fastest-growing healthcare service providers in the GCC with presence in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Kuwait, has unveiled employee health engagement programme on World Diabetes Day to help UAE residents overcome an unhealthy lifestyle and stay fit

Avivo has specially designed a diabetes package for the community at US$40, which is at around 80 per cent discount. The offer can be availed at Primacare, Dubai, and Reem Diagnostic and Medical Centre, Reem Al Nahda, Reem Specialty and Medical Centre, Sharjah until November 30, 2019, the Dubai-based company said in a statement.

“Balancing good health with a healthy work ambience is imperative in this competitive arena. Let us strive to overcome unhealthy lifestyle which is accompanied with loads of health threats, including diabetes,” said Avivo Group CEO Dr Atul.

The newly designed programme aims to cover an array of activities, including spread the blue obesity challenge.

“Numerous corporate houses have already joined hands with Avivo Group to fight diabetes through the programmes. Avivo Employees and their patients are joining hands to create awareness on World Diabetes Day by wearing blue silicone wrist bands,” said Dr Atul.

“Healthy employees are the biggest asset to any organisation and we want to promote our employees’ health as our core value. We are gifting health check-up vouchers to employees and their family members,” announced Dr Atul.

According to an estimate of the World Health Organisation, diabetes has remained the seventh-leading cause of death across the world, but it is an especially severe problem in the Middle East and the UAE.

The number of people with diabetes in the Middle East, according to the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, is set to double within the next 30 years.
