Vaccination and booster doses will be made mandatory for all employees of Abu Dhabi Government entities from December 10.
Under new rules approved by the Department of Government Support, vaccination and booster doses will be required to enter the workplace.
The new rules are approved by the Department of Government Support, in coordination with the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee. It applies to all government entities in the UAE capital but is not applicable to employees with an official medical exemption, according to a tweet posted on the Abu Dhabi Media Office feed.
The move comes as the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced 2,708 new coronavirus cases have been detected in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 774,897. According to the ministry, no COVID-19-related deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours, and death toll remains unchanged at 2,170.
MoHAP also noted that an additional 743 individuals have fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 749,254.
