The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY), Bahrain’s maritime repair and fabrication facility, has opened three worker rest points equipped with essential services, in line with its objective to provide a safe and positive working environment for employees

The initiative will reduce the risk of heat stress, especially in the summer, the company says.

The official opening ceremony took place at the company headquarters in Hidd, in partnership with Jotun Group and Western Area Trading Company. It was attended by the deputy CEO Shaikh Mohamed bin Rashed Al Khalifa, the executive management team of ASRY, Jotun and Western Area Trading Company, as well as the employees and sub-contractors involved in the project.

During the inauguration, the deputy CEO commented, “Today we launch the first phase of the project, which will then be built upon in the upcoming period. This project aims to harness a safe and comfortable work environment that streamlines the employees’ path to success, and reflects ASRY’s values of safety, responsibility and teamwork.”

ASRY Support Services general manager and Human Resources senior manager, Shaikh Duaij bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, added that this social initiative is in line with the company’s goal of reviving the values of social responsibility and implementing them by providing a healthy and positive working environment for all employees.
