Al Naboodah Group Enterprises (ANGE) has conducted comprehensive occupational health and safety activities, aiming to create awareness and educating the workforce on best practice in occupational health and safety

The event brought Civil Defense, Dubai Police, the Aster Health Bus and a range of specialists together with ANGE employees to advise them on a range of topics from mental health and wellbeing to fire safety.

Robert Munn, general manager SHEQ shared service at ANGE, said that the workshop aimed at protecting employees and ensuring that they learn about international best practice in health and safety standards at all sites of the company.

The event took place across all ANGE offices, projects, yards and workshops with a theme for every day of the week, and involved many campaigns, presentations and workshops.

Gareth Main, HSE manager at Al Naboodah Construction Group, said, “Across the globe, millions die every year as the result of occupational accidents or work-related diseases, more than 2.3mn deaths per year. In addition, hundreds of millions are injured on the job annually, often resulting in lost work time.”

“Collaborating with international firms such as IPAF who gave demonstrations on working at height safely, to talks by leading NLP practitioner, Linda Bonner and including bringing the Emirates Civil Defense Academy to give presentations on fire safety, the week was a great success and will contribute to the health, safety and welfare of all our employees.” Main added.

The activities focused on major themes identified as most important for the company which include working at height, mental health and stress prevention, occupational health day, road safety, nutrition and exercise.
