Employees of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), in partnership with Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), have raised US$272,242 to support UAE communities during the Holy Month of Ramadan as part of the ADNOC annual Ramadan initiative
The funds were used by ERC to provide thousands of iftar meals and Ramadan boxes (Mir Ramadan), which contain essential food items for families and those in need.
The food parcels were delivered to the beneficiaries in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the recipients and in line with social distancing precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, rather than being distributed in Ramadan tents.
The Ramadan initiative of ADNOC is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes which aim to create a positive and lasting social impact on local communities. As part of its support for the ‘UAE Volunteers’ initiative , the company recently distributed 10,000 ‘Weqaya’ kits that contain personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks and gloves, as well as hand sanitisers to local communities.
