More than 100 delegates attended the 4th Annual HSS Forum held on 27-28 November 2018 at the Habtoor Grand Resort, Dubai
The event, researched and developed by Health, Safety & Security Review Middle East magazine, was held under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention with the aim of enhancing Health, Safety and Security (HSS) performance in the UAE.
The 4th Annual HSS Forum highlighted best practices, process improvements, technology advances and innovative applications to ensure worker health and wellbeing and promote safety in the workplace. It saw the participation of many international and local speakers in a joint effort to bring HSS issues to the fore, combined with an audience of leading solution providers to ensure workplace safety.
The highlights of the Forum were:
- Dr Ola Ahmed Mira, the UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention Director - OHS and Head, discussed the importance of employee health in order to create a productive and resilient workforce.
-Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) proposed steps to address the challenges of working in a hot and humid environment.
-Dubai Municipality called on organisations to strategise their HSE norms.
-HSE Compliance and Assurance Dept at ADNOC stressed the need to have a data record of incidents in the UAE.
-Akrivia introduced an IoT-based health and safety management solution to meet the HSE needs.
-ENOC LLC discussed accountability for a failure or incident in order to strive for operational excellence and reliable organisation.
-International Airport Operations of Emirates Group talked about simplifying safety and creating a safe zone for an employee.
-IPAF asked organisations to record and report incidents to avoid future incidents.
-Global EHS discussed how data analysis can help manage hazards and risks.
