Equate, Kuwait Fire Service Directorate and Ministry of Interior organise firefighting training

Fire Safety

Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD), Equate Petrochemical Company and the Ministry of Interior (MOI) have organised a joint training programme to strengthen relations and adopt international practices in addressing emergencies

The training programme focused on developing the employees’ skills on various and diverse levels in fire safety training courses to keep everyone up-to-date and safe, said Abdulqader Al-Qabandi, emergency services and security (ES&S) leader at Equate.

The partnership between Equate, KFSD and MOI has been growing over the past few years through a number of partnerships. This initiative comes as part of a MoU agreement that was signed in 2016 to support efforts in relevant fields.

The recent training programmes, which included a total of more than 20 employees from the three organisations, were conducted over the course of two weeks by experts in municipal firefighting and fire investigation at KFSD’s facilities, followed by two-weeks of training on vital industrial security at MOI’s training centre.

The Equate Group is a global producer of petrochemicals and the world’s second-largest producer of Ethylene Glycol (EG). The group has industrial complexes in Kuwait, North America and Europe that annually produce more than five million tonnes of Ethylene, EG, Polyethylene (PE) and Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET).
