Emerson LED Emergency Exit lighting creates safer workspaces

The automation solutions specialist has announced the availability of the Appleton HEX series LED Hazardous Location Exit Sign, which have been rated for C1D2-areas to provide bright and reliable emergency illumination

Expanding its portfolio with advance hazardous location electrical equipment, the HEX series LED Exit Sign can provide is optimised for use in crisis, specifically when dealing with a loss of power.

Rated for C1D2 areas, the signs are optimised for hostile industrial environments such as oil refineries, underground tunnels and wastewater treatment centres. 

The Appleton HEX series LED Hazardous Location Exit Signs offer 6kV of surge protection as standard, and are dual voltage at 120 volts or 277 volts on pre-wired circuits to minimise installation times.

The signs provide failsafe emergency operation for 90 minutes or more upon loss of AC power via a rechargeable 4.8V nickel cadmium battery. 

Upon failure, the unit's visual status lights up on the LED indicator immediately to alert plant maintenance to repair, and diagnostic testing can be prompted using an included magnet flash. 

The units are UL Listed for use in Class I, Div. 2 (C1D2) applications and wet locations, such as walkways, exit ramps, stairs and aisles.
