Polsec to unveil artificial intelligence sensor camera at Future Cities Show

Events

RenatoPolsec, Brazil-headquartered manufacturer and distributor of public safety equipment, will present artificial intelligence (AI) camera and sensor technology during the Future Cities Show in Dubai on 10 April 2018

The bio-behaviour metrics of Polsec aims to identify and track fully-covered people and unusual human behaviour. According to Polsec, the advanced movement sensor technology can detect how many people cross a street every day at a particular hour and can track if the number suddenly increases. Polsec’s new artificial intelligence camera also detects unusual traffic situations and parking violations.

Polsec’s advanced camera technology is currently being tested in Mumbai, Delhi and Agra in India, where tiny micro sensor units are placed throughout public areas.

According to the company, the AI camera has ‘bionic-ear’ voice recognition facility which aims to identify specific words like ‘help’ or ‘police’ and send a quick report. The sensor technology has been built to pinpoint an individual’s voice search for the attributes of an unknown person, such as gender, ethnicity, accents and dialects.

The camera also has inbuilt ‘smell’ sensors to effectively monitor the air pollution or other potentially hazardous environmental factors, said the company.

The company’s Iris 360-degree is particularly useful in desert areas. This technology can clean dust from the lens. The ‘digital eyes’ feature is used to capture the presence of people and set the brightness level as per the necessity, thus saving electricity and lifetime of the bulb.

Explaining the use of the camera to monitor security reasons in Dubai, Renato Werner, CEO of Polsec, said that Dubai is expected to be the first to boast a zero crime rate in major areas such as airports and the metro network. By installing these comprehensive sensors network and a centralised control room, with fixed communication channels to the police, the city can achieve the position to be the smartest safe city around the globe.

“Surveillance is a major investment by cities, when you consider spending on the technologies that enable Smart City initiatives is forecast to reach US$1.26bn for the Middle East and Africa region in 2018, according to recent insights from International Data Corporation,” he added.
