Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) will present a case study on health and safety management at the British Safety Council’s striving for excellence conference
The conference which is scheduled to be held at the InterContinental Regency Hotel in Manama, Bahrain, will feature expert speakers addressing health and safety issues.
“Our personal safety journey is the result of continual improvement of our health and safety management systems over many decades. It resulted in the current excellent personal safety records reflected by a number of international safety awards. Our presentation will focus on our safety journey, the tools we used, the benefits we realised and our future plans," Hafedh Al-Qassab, general manager refining at the Bahrain Petroleum, said.
Bahrain on Sunday announced its largest oil find in over 80 years, located off its west coast.
“We strongly believe the conference in Bahrain is an excellent forum for sharing health and safety best practice which will benefit the participants and their employees,” he added.
“Our annual conference in Bahrain is an important international platform for addressing the most pertinent health and safety issues and sharing best practice with our members and partners in the region. The vision of the British Safety Council is that ‘no-one should be injured or made ill at work’. Sharing expertise and ensuring close cooperation between leading organisations will help to make this aspiration a reality,” Mike Robinson, chief executive of the British Safety Council, said.
