Ocean Safety releases next generation Liferaft

PPE

UK-based company Ocean Safety, part of Safety & Survival Systems International, has launched a new range of liferafts

The firm, which specialises in the global supply, distribution, service and hire of marine safety equipment, announced the arrival of the Ocean Standard liferaft range last month, which it said represented an updated version of the previous Ocean Standard model, with a number of key improvements.

“Rigorous testing and feedback from our marketplace helps us to continuously improve our products,” said Ocean Safety’s managing director Charlie Mill.

Updates to the liferafts therefore include a high visibility yellow floor, allowing for easy identification if inverted, and newly designed rounded corners on buoyancy tubes to improve vessel durability, as well as the ease with which the crafts can be brought alongside a rescue vessel.

The Ocean Standard liferaft, which the manufacturer described as “a cost-effective entry level liferaft”, also features a new container with improved handles for easy lifting, and has already gone into production.
