At Safety & Health Expo, Gentex Europe showcased a number of products that provide innovative respiratory protection from hazardous contaminants in the workplace such as silica dust, welding fumes, airborne particulates, gases and vapours
The company has acquired the licence to distribute DeWALT products in the UK, Europe and Middle East, and displayed the DeWALT hard hat powered respirator and welding powered respirator which it will be launching in the UK towards the end of this year. The hard hat respirator provides maximum protection in construction environments where workers are subjected to high levels of dust, whether from concentre, silica or cement.
Speaking to Health, Safety & Security Review Middle East Jon Goodway, sales channel manager – industrial respiratory, explained that powered respirators, which do not rely on forming a seal to the user’s face, are the best option where the users have facial hair or glasses.
Goodway added that DeWALT is a strong brand in the Middle East and the company has high hopes for expanding its business in the region.
“We are expecting big things,” he said.
Gentex is also hoping to extend distribution of the DeWALT brand further afield to Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Canada in the future.
