Training

Oman-based Mazoon Electricity Company has launched a programme for enhancing effective ‘Safety Leadership’ at an event held in Holiday Inn

The programme aims to equip its leaders with the knowledge and capability of vital health, safety and environment (HSE) responsibilities.

Endorsed by the senior level management of the company, the on-going training programme will focus on embedding vital HSE practices in business, environment, work and worksites.

Mazoon Electricity has partnered with safety consultancy company DEKRA, to execute the programme. Comprising wide-ranging experience, experts from DEKRA will use effective tools to motivate and educate leaders to support a long-term change to positively impact safety performance.

To be held in three phases for a few months, the programme will include ‘leading with safety’ workshops and coaching along with guidance on ‘safe mind, safe body’. The programme will present a leader diagnostic instrument report.

The training is expected to create a strong safety culture and behaviour change among participants.

Salim Said Al Kamyani, the acting CEO of Mazoon Electricity, said, “Managing risks related to HSE has always been high on our company’s agenda. The purpose of the ‘Safety Leadership Programme’ is to arm leaders with skills and competencies required to ‘lead with safety’.”

“We are delighted that our staff will gain a number of benefits from participating in this training which was designed to help them become a better influencer of safety. The know-hows our staff gains at the on-going training can be applied to other aspects of leadership. We thank the specialists from DEKRA for instilling these values in our leaders,” he added.

Saleem Nasser Al Mahrooqi, HSE manager, Mazoon Electricity, stated, “We are confident that our workforce will continue to exhibit a great commitment to the success of the ‘Safety Leadership Programme’. They have already pledged a personal commitment to make a positive and sustainable change.”
