Parsons appoints Dr Rida Hamza for critical infrastructure protection in MEA

California-based security, defence and infrastructure company Parsons has announced the appointment of Dr Rida Hamza as vice-president for business development, critical infrastructure protection, with focus on the Middle East and Africa (MEA) and other high-growth regions

In this role, Dr Hamza will be responsible for international growth and operational excellence in critical infrastructure protection and large-scale physical and cyber security project delivery.

“The need for cyber and physical security continues to increase, and Parsons provides full-spectrum security solutions to customers around the globe,” said Carey Smith, federal president at Parsons.

Dr Hamza joins Parsons from Thales, where he was the head of the civil business. Prior to Thales role, Dr Hamza was general manager at Honeywell Security Group in MENA.

He brings extensive experience in leadership and security and has been a major technical contributor for several integrated security solutions and leading industrial, government and commercial contracts.

Dr Hamza is also the author and co-author of several engineering books and video and signal analytics papers. He holds more than 48 US and international patents in support of physical security, video analytics and biometrics technology and innovations.
