Hikvision launches MinMoe touch-free temperature screening terminals

Industrial

Video surveillance company Hikvision has introduced its MinMoe ‘touch-free’ temperature screening terminals to the market

MinMoe terminals from Hikvision employ face recognition and thermographic technologies to make access for work areas easier and safer, record attendance and simultaneously screen temperatures without requiring staff to touch a terminal or gate.

The ‘touch-free’ nature of the terminals is also suited for fast temperature screening with access control in high-throughput scenarios, such as offices, factories, retail stores, schools, etc.

The MinMoe temperature screening terminals are equipped with advanced thermographic cameras and quickly and accurately detect elevated skin-surface temperatures for preliminary screening. The distance of 0.3- to 2 m allows flexibility in deployment and detection.

MinMoe terminals can be set to deny access requests and alert operators to further confirm the actual core body temperature of a person using clinical measuring devices, when detecting abnormal temperatures. In addition, the terminals support a quick temperature measurement mode, which will only detect temperatures (identity authentication will not be performed in this mode).

Powered by a deep learning algorithm, MinMoe terminals ramp up face recognition accuracy to more than 99 per cent, ensuring fast, almost ‘non-stop’ passage. In addition, the terminal functions well in low- and even zero-light environments.

In many areas and scenarios local governments, communities, or businesses themselves have suggested or even required wearing masks. Quick, automated mask detection will be yet another access control system requirement.

MinMoe Temperature Screening Terminals can detect if a person has a mask on them. The device will prompt an audio reminder when a registered face is recognised but not wearing a mask. This provides an easy way to automate monitoring and maintaining requirements, regulations and, ultimately, security.
