Abu Dhabi’s DoH launches website at Arab Health 2019

Industrial

Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has launched a new website powered by artificial intelligence (AI) during Arab Health 2019

The fully integrated platform combines marketing and smart technology, with the aim to improve the users’ experience via an easy-to-follow user interface.

The revamped website will equip users with easy access to daily healthcare news, covering medical innovations, and social and health awareness updates provided by knowledgeable professionals. Designed to facilitate access for the community, including health professionals and the general public, the website will serve as the single source of data for Abu Dhabi residents.

Harnessing the power of AI, the new website will deliver personalised content to users each time they access the platform based on their behaviour. With the ever-growing importance of instant access to information, using cutting-edge user-tracking tools throughout the website will ensure that every interaction, behaviour, profile and activity within the community is captured and stored in a database, enabling powerful analytical insights that lead to exceptionally personalised customer engagement.

Mohamed Al Hameli, the undersecretary of Department of Health, said, “Looking at the healthcare sector globally, the future is headed towards AI. We strongly believe that AI will transform healthcare, and we are dedicated to driving this culture of innovation and inspiring cross-industrial collaboration.”

In an effort to facilitate easy access to information, DoH has included the cognitive virtual assistant (CVA), within the new website, which is the second project to be developed and launched under the AI lab, following the launch of the My Health Coach.

Powered by artificial intelligence, the virtual assistant will be able to answer queries in Arabic and English with regards to facility and professional licensing. In the near future, this CVA will include all DoH services.

The new website will also feature contemporary technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning (ML) services. The site will operate seamlessly on any mobile device, delivering an advanced user experience across all channels.
