Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA), the national airline of Saudi Arabia, has been awarded by APEX with the Diamond Simpliflying Badge for its Health Safety for its efforts to comply with more regulations, strict cleaning and disinfection in all its operations

The award from APEX, the Airline Passenger Experience Association, is a recognition for being a leader in the sector and for its good management that reflects that the airline is using the most demanding measures in safety and protection against COVID-19.

Captain Ibrahim S. Koshy, an executive president, said, “SAUDIA prioritises the safety of its passengers and our team members, and we are committed to following exemplary and rigorous hygiene protocols at every step of our journey.

“Safety is paramount. Our team is committed to excellence and is ready to make SAUDIA have a distinctive and welcoming onboard service while continuing to follow the coronavirus protection and security measures that the airline has implemented.”

Dr Joe Leader, executive president of APEX, commented, “In 2021 SAUDIA has not only become a five-star airline in 2021 according to APEX but it has even exceeded expectations, having also reached the diamond level in hospitality and health security for each of our passengers.

“With APEX’s 42 years of experience as a global non-profit organisation fully dedicated to improving the airline passenger experience, SAUDIA’s commitment to personalised attention has never been more relevant than after receiving this award based on a comprehensive and science-based research from SimpliFlying.”

Shashank Nigam, CEO of SimpliFlying, said, “SAUDIA has raised the bar for sanitary standards in the industry with initiatives such as collaboration with brands such as Dettol and sanitising toilets after each use. With health security comparable to that of a hospital, travellers feel completely safe and secure calm down.”
