NAS, Neuron launch UAE Tele-Health Network initiative

HSE

NAS and Neuron, in partnership with Kings College Hospital, Mediclinic, and Prime, have launched its Tele-Health Network service to offer members teleconsultation services during critical times triggered by COVID-19

The service is launched in support of the recommendations issued by UAE’s Ministry of Interior and the National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management Authority for UAE to limit social contact between people and avoid leaving home unless absolutely necessary.

Teleconsultation is a solution that provides people the opportunity to consult and communicate with their doctor without having to leave the safety of their homes. Using modern technology to deliver an optimal user experience, teleconsultation saves members’ time as well as transportation costs, by offering them the option to access health services from the comfort of their own home.

NAS and Neuron have dedicated their expertise in establishing teleconsultation as a complimentary, and accessible service to ensure that members can access services without compromising health and safety. NAS and Neuron collectively serve more than 1.4 million members in the country, all of whom can access the service irrespective of the level of cover they receive.

The tailored suite of services provided by NAS and Neuron includes three types of teleconsultations services to suit the needs of individual members. These include consultation with a general physician using the myNas or Neuron mobile app. This service can be enjoyed by all members of NAS and Neuron irrespective of their network.

GP Services, which are available from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM are an exclusive service for NAS and Neuron members. Through a dedicated GP helpdesk, members can call the designated Tele-Health Network facilities, share their identification details with the facility and receive an instant real time tele-consultation, without any cost of such consultations to the Insurers. The service gives members access to a host of highly qualified medical professionals at King’s College hospital via video conferencing and telephone calls.

In addition, specialist consultations are also available, via video conferencing and telephone calls, for new appointments with Mediclinic and Prime Healthcare Group as per network eligibility.

Members in need of prescription refills and associated medical advice on ongoing treatment can contact their treating doctors directly within the network.

The doctors can conduct a thorough medical assessment and prescribe medications via the network. In cases where medicines are prescribed, the facility will deliver them same day and will send a link through SMS to members so they can make their payments online. NAS and Neuron also supports members who have chronic medical conditions such as diabetes by enabling them to schedule teleconsultations for prescription refills.
