Momentum is building for the inaugural HSE Oman Forum, which takes place virtually from 22-23 June
As Oman drives forward its economic diversification plans, the country has invested more than US$3.2bn in healthcare and safety services, creating a demand for solutions ranging from EHS software to fire safety equipment, training and certification.
Participants at the HSE Oman Forum, which is sponsored by Yokogawa, will benefit from exclusive access to insights from experts from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), Port of Salalah, Oman Dry Docks along with other leading government and private sector entities as they share their best practices and strategies to mitigate occupational health and safety risks.
The event will provide a platform to discuss updates on the latest industry and regulatory developments, with the Ministry of Health set to share their latest strategy to assess and improve occupational health and safety, as well as to explore current HSE trends and showcase innovative technologies to optimise HSE performance.
The wide-ranging agenda is built around six key themes: regulatory framework and vision; e-hse- the next revolution in Oman; environmental footprint; zero incidents framework; risk overview; and HSE in the post-pandemic era.
PDO will have a strong presence at the Forum, with highlights including a presentation from Yousra Kindi, the company’s Senior Behavioural Safety Adviser on PDO’s behavioural-based safety system and its role improving safety culture. Jose Petrizzo, Senior Industrial Hygienist, will discuss PDO's initiatives to ensure occupational health and safety of workers and best practice to achieve and sustain highest standards of process safety and health management systems. Nadiya Al-Harthy, Snr. Contract HSE Advisor, will discuss tools and technology enablers for effective HSE management, while Fahad Rabani, Lifting Lead, will explain the new national lifting operation management system for the oil and gas industry.
Other speakers include Neelesh Sogani, Chairman, IOSH Oman, who will discuss the integration of HSE with business continuity, while Willem Nel, general manager HSSE, Port of Salalah will focus on fatal risk standards. Fahad Alkiyumi, Sr. QHSE manager, Oman Electricity Transmission Company will share his insights on safety at height and best practices, while Md Ubaidul Haq, HSSE Manager (Health, Safety, Security and Environment Department), Oman Drydock Company will give a presentation on HSSE initiatives to drive towards an LTI-free workplace.
Porchelvan Nadanam, HSE Manager, Huadong Ibri PV Construction LLC will discuss solutions to address HSE hazards in renewable energy projects, and Dr. Oualid Ali Founder & President, The Tunisian Association for Future Foresight, will give a presentation on smart and AI-led HSE.
HSE Oman Forum is the latest in the highly acclaimed event series, now in its seventh year, designed to highlight best practices, process improvements, technology advancements and innovative applications for the enhancement of HSE performance in the GCC. It follows hard on the heels of the HSE UAE Forum, which took place in Dubai from 6-7 April to positive feedback.
