Empower upgrades to new ISO45001:2018 standard in occupational health and safety management systems

Cooling services provider Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) has announced its success in establishing uncompromising control measures to ensure the health and safety in all levels of the company’s operations as per international standards and practices

This is translated into the renewal of the ISO certification for the Occupational Safety and Health Management System to its new version ISO 45001:2018.

Empower has also completed the second surveillance procedures for the renewal of the Quality Management System, ISO 9001:2015 and the Environmental Management System, ISO 14001:2015. This great achievement attests to the company’s commitment to adopting best practices, highest standards and top administrative systems with regards to quality, environment, and occupational health and safety. Further, the company is always after bringing immense satisfaction and happiness for its more than 140,000 customers by maintaining high quality district cooling services.

Empower has implemented an integrated management system for Quality, Health & Safety and Environment since 2006 and has consistently adhered to the international standards adopted in this regard. The new ISO 45001 sets certain requirements for the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System which enables Empower to improve effective risk control measures in place to provide healthy and safe workplaces for all stakeholders by providing an integrated system that seeks to prevent work injuries and accidents and meet customers’ needs and expectations.
