The Dubai-based Emirates Driving Institute (EDI) has won an internationally recognised award for its high health and safety standards

The Emirates Driving Institute has received a RoSPA Fleet Safety Trophy for working hard to ensure that their employees, customers, suppliers, contractors and partners at the end of each working day get home safely to their families.

Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as the world leaders in the practice of health and safety. Nearly 2,000 entrants compete each year to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running award for the health and safety industry.

These awards are judged on verifiable historical performance data of accidents and the identification of an effective, cohesive corporate road risk management program in line with the principles of the RoSPA National Safe Driving Award scheme.

Mahmood Al-Khamis, director, overseas projects, Emirates Driving Institute, said, “We are extremely honoured to win this prestigious safety award from the world’s most sought after health and safety accolades.

“It is also a reward for all our staff members who have successfully contributed over the years to create the brand ‘Emirates Driving Institute’. This award inspires us to further strengthen our reputation as the leading learner and driver training organisation in the Middle East.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards, and events, said, “RoSPA wants every employee, wherever they are, to work safely in the knowledge that they will be going home unharmed and healthy at the end of every day. The RoSPA award winners are vital to helping achieve this goal, as by entering they are driving up standards and setting new benchmarks for organisations everywhere. Currently, around seven million people are directly impacted by the RoSPA awards, but the scheme’s influence is even wider.”
