A number of private health facilities have been closed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) for failing to comply with the laws and regulations of the authority
The DHA stated that the facilities, including clinics, health centres and pharmacies, had been shut down by the authority after inspections found that there had been medical violations in those facilities.
Dr Marwan Al Mulla, CEO of the Health Regulation Sector at DHA, stressed that while the authority believes in the important role of private health facilities in the development of the Dubai health sector, it is keen to ensure the safety of patients by ensuring that all health facilities comply with its rules and regulations.
He added that the authority is working hard to facilitate the growth of the private healthcare sector in Dubai to provide quality services that meet the needs and needs of patients. He said that the DHA is also working hard to further strengthen the regulations to ensure the provision of quality health services.
Dr Al Mulla said that the failure to provide the necessary equipment in the operating rooms as per approved standards and the lack of emergency medication were some of the reasons that led to the closure of these centres.
In some cases, the DHA closed the operation rooms of some of the violating facilities for a month as per the recommendations of the health committee. These centres will be re-evaluated and will be reopened if they were found to have corrected the violations.
