Total E&P UK Ltd (Total) has presented the prestigious ‘Partnership of the Year 2019’ award to Fugro at its annual HSE award ceremony
Fugro won the award after completing 122 days of successful inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) operations across all Total UK offshore facilities in 2019, using their remotely operated vehicle (ROV) support vessel Skandi Carla.
The virtual award ceremony, which was delayed due to COVID-19 in March, took place in October and the Fugro’s award was presented by Deirdre Michie OBE, CEO of OGUK.
Fugro and Total’s onshore project management teams worked seamlessly with the offshore crew to ensure the safe implementation of the IRM project. The teams have overcome challenges, including varying scopes of work and operating across multiple offshore sites by deploying remote technologies, such as Fugro ROVs and cloud-processing solutions, in parallel with more traditional structural IRM activities.
The cloud-based processing solution provided instant access to pipeline data as acquired and analysed throughout the project.
Karl Daly, Fugro’s director of IRM Services for Europe and Africa, said, “The hard work and dedication shown by each member of the Skandi Carla team paid off and is a real testament to the strong HSE culture onboard the vessel and embedded within Fugro. We look forward to continuing our safe partnership with Total.”
