c59af6e7 54e6 4875 98b6 dec4758487b2The CCPS-Middle East Process Safety Conference (MEPSC) has returned to the Middle East for its third edition

The event will be held on 30 June and 1 July 2020 at the Sheraton Dammam Hotel & Convention Centre, Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Organised by AIChE's Center for Chemical Process Safety, CCPS-MEPSC is a Middle East conference for process industry stakeholders who recognise the business value of process safety and have committed to process safety as a strategic priority and core value in all their operations.

Good safety culture is critical to high-risk operations. Major incidents in both the upstream and downstream industries have highlighted the importance of robust processes and systems in place. When it comes to measuring safety performance, companies are often limited by means and methods of measurement.

This conference aims to discuss with member companies a benchmark against which to compare their performance so that they can determine the efficacy of their safety management systems, identify shortcomings, and take corrective actions.

Bench-marking provides an opportunity for companies to identify gaps in their current practices so that they can work towards continuous improvement. It will also help demonstrate that the responsible management of safety in the downstream oil industry results in a low level of accidents, despite the hazards intrinsic to its operations.

This edition will focus on topics such as:

-Industry Process Safety Incidents Case Studies with Emphasis on Lessons Learned and Reflecting on the CCPS RBPS Elements

-Business and Line Ownership of Process Safety with an Emphasis on Process Safety -Culture as it Affects this Issue
