Drydocks World, the global service provider to the shipping, offshore, oil, gas and energy industries have been recognised at the Shell Contractor Workshop Awards for the best HSE initiative in 2014-2015
The event, which took place at the Radisson Blue Edwardian in Heathrow, UK on 15 October saw Drydocks World’s President, Dr. Kim being presented with the award.
Drydocks World was given the prize following the firm introducing Chariot Robotic equipment for hydro-blasting on the vessels’ hulls. The new product aims to help in lowering health, safety and environmental risk and is expected to offer consistent quality and more efficiency, the firm noted.
The shipyard has also rolled out large covered painting chambers with four seasons' temperature controlled de-humidification and vacuum cleaning facilities.
According to the Drydocks World, a number of tests including emission tests and waste generation tests took place on a periodic basis to improve the performance of the chariot robotic machines and their impact on health, safety and environmental aspects.
