ORYX GTL won the GSF Safety Award 2016

ORYX GTL Plant QatarORYX GTL, a Qatari ultra-clean fuels manufacturer, won the prestigious GSF Safety Award 2016, which is awarded for the first time in the region, and is granted for overall achievements in the field of health, safety and the environment during the last years

The Forum was held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the State of Qatar, and presence of H.E Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada, the Minister of Energy and Industry, 30 - 31 October, 2016 at the Hilton Hotel, Doha. A panel of judges evaluates the submissions and chooses the best project for the grant award during the opening session of the forum.

During his speech at the Forum, Mr. Mohamed Sharif Al-Mushiri, Chief Commercial Officer at ORYX GTL thanked His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, the Minister of Energy and Industry in Qatar, for his unlimited support and encouragement to all joint venture companies in Qatar, including ORYX GTL.

Mr. Al-Mushiri also thanked Shareholders for their support to Qatar’s oil and gas industry.

He also praised the work of the great ORYX GTL staff, which had a fundamental role in achieving the remarkable milestone of zero Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) for the fifth consecutive year.

Speaking at the forum about “Integrating Behavioral Safety at Oryx GTL” Mr. Martin Murray, Head of Safety at ORYX GTL said: “Our current success in built on the dedication, commitment and contribution from our workforce throughout the organisation including the contractors who undertake specific work activities at ORYX GTL. We also believe the implementation of our “ZERO Harm” initiatives have also ensured that ORYX GTL’s HSE vision remains the forefront in everything we do at work and in our lives outside of work”.
