The world's leading solution providers will display their latest innovations at Intersec 2017, and IP-based video video surveillance is set to display all its wares, including bottom line benefits past security. The Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre will host Intersec 2017 from 22 - 24 January 2017.

The Internet of Things have continued to be on the agenda of many players in the region, with its far reaching solutions opening up new opportunities and cost saving benefits. Video analytics has been part of this rise. However, the affect of video surveillance and analytics is still to be underlined so that customers can take full advantage of technological landscape and money saving opportunities. This is what Intersec 2017 will aim to do.

Many global security solutions providers will attend the upcoming Intersec 2017 show, where they will display all the opportunities that video surveillance offers. Some of which, particularly in sectors such as retail, bottom up benefits can extend beyond loss prevention and control.

Axis Communications will attend Intersec 2017 and will offer a range of solutions based on IP (Internet Protocol) video analytics, which can have a range of applications across sectors, such as retail. Johan Åkesson, director of business development for retail at Axis Communications, said “When retailers think of video surveillance, it’s usually in the context of loss prevention and security, but there’s a whole other arena where surveillance video provides enormous value: gathering real-time in-store intelligence to help improve margins.”

“With embedded analytics in network video cameras, retailers can not only observe customer behaviour in-store, but garner real-time statistics to improve store layout, product and display placements, and even identify bottlenecks and dead areas on the shop floor,” Åkesson added.
