The inaugural Kuwait Health, Safety & Security Forum was successfully launched today at the J.W. Marriott, Kuwait City under the patronage of His Excellency Dr Basel Hamoud Hamad Al-Sabah, Minister of Health Kuwait
The forum, researched and developed by Health, Safety & Security Review Middle East Magazine, was attended by the senior officials from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior, Kuwait Oil Company and other distinguished guests and personalities.
Following the opening keynote from the Ministry of Health highlighting well-being at workplaces, the presentation from Prof Harri Vainio, Kuwait University emphasised the need of evidence-based policy making. The critical topic of working at height was addressed by Jason Woods - Middle East Representative for IPAF, followed by an interactive panel discussion on implementing safety standards moderated by Dr. Kamel from the Ministry of Health. Staying calm in the time of crisis was addressed by Nasser Al Buhairi from Kuwait Oil Company, while Dr. Musaed Al Najjer from the International Police Science Association spoke about physical trauma versus psychological trauma. There were product presentations from Mohammed from KARAM Safety and Gary Hicks from EVAC+CHAIR.
The two-day forum is supported by the Kuwait Society of Occupational and Environmental Medicine; Department of Occupational Health, Ministry of Health Kuwait; American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) Kuwait; New Kuwait; International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) and the World Safety Council.
