The winners of the Expoprotection awards in both the fire and security and occupational, natural and industrial risks sectors were unveiled and rewarded on 18 October 2016 during a press conference at The Hilton Opera in Paris
The panels of experts and end-users highlighted the best of the best innovations from the security and fire sector and occupational, natural and industrial risks sector. 80 products and services were entered into this years event. The number of applications for the event were double what they were in 2015, hence why the organisers website are describing the event as a 'frank success.'
The awards were handed out to those who were awarded either gold, silver or bronze. There was also a special mention of the jury that was included in the awards ceremony.
Within the security and fire sector, Pixiel took the top prize with Neosafe, a drone security solution. The automated drone solution is designed for the surveillance and protection of industrial infrastructures and sensitive sites. The judging panel were particularly impressed by the drone's adaptability for a variety of environments and procedures.
Silver was awarded to STIF for STID Mobile ID, a mobile access control solution. The Mobile ID either compliments or replaces the traditional RFID badge by transferring credentials onto either an Android or iOS smartphone. The Mobile ID has a variety of smart and intuitive identification features which allow easier control without compromising safety.
The bronze prize was award to Optex for the Laser RSL-2020 next generation laser scanner. The high tech product at an affordable price can be used indoor or outdoor and can deliver pinpoint accuracy to protect security breaches while almost entirely eliminating false alarms.
The special mention of the jury was to Visiom for their Evolv security solution which delivers a highly flexible security system with minimal false alarms and low deployment output.
Winning the overall occupational, natural and industrial risks sector was Orosound for Tilde, a wireless noise control earphone. The headphones allow the wearer to control and customize their soundscape at work by reducing the background noise level, cancel noises or just hear the colleague opposite you. The earphones are designed to reduce fatigue and stress at work caused by noise, a factor that particularly impressed the panel.
CLIC-IT Dehondt took the silver aware for Pro 60, their patented secure belay systems for working at height. The personal protective equipment incorporates a shock absorber with integrated landyard and aluminium connectors to secure the user and provide a secured release trigger.
Bronze was awarded to Vizo for Viz-o head support system. The system assists those who look up at work and dynamically supports the movement of the wearers head.
Mulliez Flory were given a special mention of the jury as they teamed up with Altran to deliver intelligent workwear which is both durable and strong work clothing.
Members of the panels included Mickael Bettan, head of security department for Monoprix, Patrick Goddard, head of security for INA, Solène Gentric, occupational risks prevention manager for Disneyland Paris, and Jean-Christophe Jarysta, workplace health and prevention manager, Renault.
