Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has organised the 9th Annual Conference for Best Practices in the fields of quality, health, safety and environment
During the inauguration, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of DEWA, identified current challenges, proposed efforts to address them and reviewed the experiences of partner companies in achieving smart solutions through dialogues.
The conference was attended by senior officials from the public and private sectors, as well as local and international specialists in the field of quality, health, safety and the environment.
“Our work focuses on the concept of sustainable environment and integrated infrastructure which guarantees the achievement of 11 of the national agenda indicators by 2021, by ensuring the continuity of sustained development, environment protection and achieving a balance between economic and social development,” said Al Tayer.
“This will be done by achieving targets related to the quality of air, reserving water resources, increasing reliance on clean energy and applying green development, in addition to enhancing the quality of electricity and communications supply for the country,” he added.
“We are committed to providing a healthy, safe, and happy work environment for all employees, partners and customers, through adopting best practices, and the effective and successful application of quality standards, and promoting quality policy among all concerned parties,” he said.
The management systems policy includes complying with all legislative requirements related to raising awareness and preventing injuries, diseases and accidents, and managing natural resources in ways that ensure its sustainability, Al Tayer further noted.
