ECOM developed the Tab-Ex Pro to keep up with Industry 4.0 and related mobile device demands. The new tablet allows clients to meet digitalisation challenges while simplifying the way employees work in increasingly complex environments.
The 10-inch tablet screen is suitable for displaying and interacting, even in hazardous areas, with interactive, web-based, and augmented reality content and apps. For example, this is helpful when the device is used to call up a construction drawing or to receive instructions for certain work steps. Despite its large screen and rough construction, the tablet is lightweight and easy to use.
Added safety with new technology and industry standards
The Tab-Ex Pro is based on the Galaxy Tab Active Pro tablet from Samsung, with features like Google AR Core, facial recognition, and a Qualcomm SDM670 Octa-Core 64 bit 2.0 GHz, 1.7 GHz processor. Samsung KNOX and Android 9 (planned for Android 10) guarantee high security of the data and devices.
Pogo pin charging and a powerful replaceable battery with 7,400 mAh capacity ensure smooth operation and 15 hours of field runtime. The practicality and functionality of Tab-Ex Pro are enhanced by peripherals such as headsets, remote speaker microphones and a smartwatch. The tablet is also available on request, without a camera.
The Tab-Ex Pro also supports lone-worker protection applications, which are particularly necessary for industrial use and in hazardous areas. The Tab-Ex Pro, like all ECOM devices, is equipped with a programmable button for quick and effective emergency calling. Connections for microphone and loudspeaker designed for Zone 2/22 and Div. 2 Always ensure that the communication is effective.

The Tab-Ex Pro is tailor-made for applications in the oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries and aviation.
