VIVA Bahrain, a telecom company, has signed a partnership with Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) to launch the first VIVA-powered ‘CyberSecurityAcademy’ in Bahrain

The initiative aims to support and develop training programmes and workshops for local IT professionals and students to enhance the talent and development of the cybersecurity field in Bahrain.

Mohammed Al Khushail, the acting CEO of VIVA Bahrain, said, “VIVA is delighted to collaborate with one of Bahrain’s leading professional institutes in the kingdom to raise awareness and develop local skill set with cybersecurity training, as an essential tool in the development of the ICT sector of Bahrain.”

“This will also prepare individuals and teams in expanding their knowledge about potential cyber threats and help protect the IT security across various institutions. Furthermore, this initiative will bridge the talent gap in the industry and ultimately promote Bahrain as a leading ICT hub in the region,” he added.

“We at VIVA believe that education fuels development, and it’s only through quality learning opportunities such as the Cyber Security Academy that we can help the local community drive forward in building Bahrain’s ICT future.” he stated.

Ahmed Abdulhameed Al Shaikh, director of the BIBF, commented, “Training is considered a top investment priority for organisations to prevent cyber threats, and we are pleased to partner with VIVA Bahrain to train and qualify local cadres in cybersecurity domains and enhance their knowledge and skill sets in frontline defence against cyber attacks. This academy will play an important role in the development of the kingdom’s national economy and the development of IT security.”

As part of this exclusive partnership, VIVA will consult on the design of the special curriculum. VIVA will bring innovative partners to introduce leading cybersecurity trends and technologies into the curriculum and conduct workshops led by VIVA’s own cybersecurity experts.
