Security

VIVA Bahrain, a leading telecommunications service provider, hosted an informative session under the theme of ‘Cyber threats = challenge’ for its business customers

The session focused on raising awareness of the anatomy of modern cyber-attacks and the effective ways to counter these risks by breaking the threat cycle, ensuring early detection and prevention – minimising the risk of damage.

Checksum’s industry-leading consultant, a VIVA partner for cybersecurity services, discussed the topic in depth, while VIVA CyberSecurity team demonstrated how effectively VIVA Cyber Security Centre, a 24x7 SOC operating in Bahrain, provides effective measures to protect its customers from modern threats using the latest technologies and threat intelligence.

Taking place at VIVA’s own Innovation Centre, located within VIVA’s headquarters in Seef district, the event covered presentations and live demonstration of modern technology to help preserve corporate data against potential cyber threats with industry-leading solutions from McAfee and Fortinet, VIVA’s technology partners.

Following the sessions, VIVA customers were made aware of VIVA’s latest services in cyber security including Bahrain’s very first CyberSecurity Academy, organised by VIVA and Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) providing the attendees with the option of continuing their training through the academy’s cybersecurity workshops that are aimed at uplifting the talent and development of the cyber security domain in Bahrain and to support the development of the kingdom’s national economy and IT security.

Mohamed Al Khushail, VIVA acting CEO, commented, “We received a great demand for such educational sessions especially after the major success of previous events concerning Cloud Computing and Cybersecurity Awareness”.

“Our team has been working hard at ensuring a valuable VIVA experience for our business clients through events such as these that connect them face to face with cybersecurity industry leaders and equip them with the necessary tools to minimise serious corporate security breaches,” he added.
