Restrata has secured a major agreement with The National Falcon Company to provide critical security services at two of Egypt’s largest airports – Cairo International Airport and Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport

Under the terms of the contract, Restrata will deliver a six-month training programme for The National Falcon Company personnel, who have been tasked by the Ministry of Civil Aviation to provide security at a number of the North African nation’s airports.

The programme has been designed to provide airport security staff with the required skills and knowledge to safely and effectively screen passengers travelling to and from the country August 2016 onwards.

The agreement is part of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s efforts to enhance the security of Egyptian airports and its continuous commitment to adopting approved standard systems and processes to apply with international airport security procedures and practices.

British Ambassador John Casson and Egypt’s minister for civil aviation Sherif Fathy witnessed the signing of the contract. The two companies also signed an MoU to work together on establishing a training academy, which will support long-term sustainability of the partnership.

Casson said, “Aviation security is a top priority for both the UK and Egyptian governments. We have a strong partnership when it comes to working on aviation security, no more so than in Sharm el-Sheikh where we are working to restart flights as quickly as possible. This contract demonstrates how we are working together to keep people safe.”

Restrata managing director Mark Alexander said, “Our mission at Restrata is to support our clients in building resilience and optimising their operations through effective management of safety and security risks. We are proud to be working with The National Falcon Company, as they undertake this significant programme, one which is critical to the future development of the aviation sector in Egypt.

“We will work closely with our colleagues at Olive Group, drawing on our combined experience of airport security and operations, new technology, and aviation regulation.”
