A2E will be exhibiting the latest in Atex compliant device technology at the 2022 SubSea Expo in Aberdeen
A2E, a Scottish-based product design and development company specialising in the oil and gas sector, has developed specialist expertise in producing engineering solutions for hazardous environments where there is a danger of explosion and equipment for extreme temperatures or high-pressure environments. This has involved the company in developing Atex compliant solutions for some of the world's largest oil and gas organisations.
David Ross, managing director, A2E commented: "When electronic or electrical equipment of any type is intended for use in a hazardous area, the equipment must be Atex certified as required by the EU directive 94/9/EC. Within Europe certification is compulsory; hazardous areas exist where a potentially explosive mix of air and flammable gasses occur.”
"Over the past ten years A2E have developed expertise in the design of Atex certified products for use in potentially explosive environments. In order to help customers understand what we can do we have developed a flexible platform which could form the basis of your required Atex device. Essentially this platform is composed of a sensor, an embedded controller and an interface. All of these building blocks are interchangeable depending on the customer's specific requirements."
A2E's other oil and gas experience includes data loggers, pressure/temperature monitoring and motor controllers. A2E's engineers have expertise in areas such as wireless, sensors and electronics for use in extreme temperature and high-pressure environments.
